Lola :)
I live in the country, surrounded by nature, just south of Seattle, WA. I am surrounded by towering evergreens, lush rain forests, and the Puget Sound. No matter where I go, I see the beauty of nature. I make sure to go out into nature on a daily basis. It grounds me. It centers me. It refreshes me. And then I'm ready to tackle my day.
That being said, it saddens and angers me to see the state of our world and how we abuse our earth. I know there is a better way. I know we can better handle our resources. I know that, together, we can make changes in our lives to create a more natural, sustainable world that will not only be healthier for the planet, but for us as well. I have a dream.
That's where Live It Up Green comes in. I've already made quite a few adjustments in my personal life, but I still have many things I'd like to do, and I'd like to let you follow along as I make these changes. My hope is that I will inspire you to make some of these changes as well.
I own a hydroponics/indoor gardening shop in my small town. Every day, I work to teach people how they can grow their own food indoors, year round. My goal is to grow a majority of the food I eat, and I'm taking you along for the ride. I'll be showing you how to grow your own food indoors, even if you live in a small apartment in the city! If we all grew just a fraction of our own food, it would have a profound impact on our carbon footprint, reducing the pollution that comes from shipping our food across the world! Not only would this be better for our planet, but food picked right off the vine has so many more vital nutrients to feed our body! It's a win-win: helping our planet and helping ourselves.

A closer look at the peppers and broccoli that fed us that month.
This is just the beginning. As I learn new ways to create a more sustainable, beautiful world, I will share with you. Perhaps I can't change the entire world, but I can be the change I wish to see in the world.
